One Millionth Download on CCU Digital Commons

University Libraries is excited to announce that CCU Digital Commons, the university’s institutional repository, recorded its one millionth download in February 2025.

CCU Digital Commons, managed by University Libraries, contains a variety of materials of importance to the university and local community, such as electronic theses and dissertations, scholarship from faculty, staff, and students, university archives, digital collections of historical and cultural heritage materials, and campus publications such as The Chanticleer student newspaper. The repository also hosts several journals: The Coastal Business Journal, The Journal of Political Science, and Bridges: A Journal of Student Research.

The repository went live in August 2018 and was made possible thanks to support from the Office of the Provost’s Student Achievement Funding initiative. The repository now contains over 8,000 works, used by over 11,000 institutions in nearly every country in the world. Topping the list of most downloaded works are:

CCU faculty or staff interested in uploading their work to the repository are encouraged to visit the library guide or contact commons@coastal.edu.
