The Horry County Memorial Library has a number of databases that are not available at the University Libraries. The two major ones are Ancestry.com and HeritageQuest Online.

• Ancestry.com - Find generations of your family and their stories (Only accessible from within an Horry County Memorial Library branch).
• HeritageQuest Online - Find genealogical and historical sources for more than 60 countries, with coverage dating back as early as the 1700s.

To use Ancestry.com, you need to visit an HCML Branch. You can get a library card for free (see below), use a guest pass to log into a computer, or you can bring your own computer and log into the HCML wifi to access Ancestry.com while on the premises.

HCML has a new Heritage Center with items on Horry County and South Carolina history, which includes some historic newspapers, yearbooks, photographs, and microfilm. You can visit the Heritage Center at:
