Course Reserve items are materials that faculty hold for the students within their course(s) to use in the library only and have a 3-hour check out period. You may check out multiple course reserve items at a time, and there is no limit to how many times you may check out the item(s). Failure to return Course Reserve materials will result in replacement costs being transferred to the Office of Student Accounts.
Course Reserve items are shelved based on the course; however, multiple subjects may utilize the same materials. You do not need to be enrolled in a specific course to use the Course Reserve item(s). To see if your course has an item on Course Reserve, you can search by the course code (ex. ENGL 101), or by the title within the University Libraries OneSearch located on the main page of the library’s website. If your textbook or class materials are not available through Course Reserves, you may want to speak with your professor about placing materials for your class on Course Reserve.
Course Reserve items are held behind the Circulation Desk, located on the 1st floor of Thompson Library except for the following items: The skeletons, boxes of bones, skulls, muscle figures, fossils and the mineral kits are also located in the Bryan Information Commons. You will need your CINO ID to check out materials from either desk. If you need assistance, please ask for help at the Thompson Circulation Desk or Bolton Help Desk, use our online assistance Ask the Library, or call 843-349-2400 and speak with a library employee.

PASCAL Delivers is a free book delivery service which enables current CCU students to request delivery of physical books from other academic libraries across the state, when the desired books are not available from our collection and receive those books at their library in about 5 business days. You can search for books via OneSearch. Once you are notified that your PASCAL book has arrived, you have 10 days to pick it up at the Circulation Desk in Thompson Library with your CINO card. The lending period for PASCAL books is 12 weeks and they may not be renewed.
Interlibrary Loan is a service provided by University Libraries to request books, journal articles, and other materials that are not in the University Libraries catalog or the PASCAL lending program. If the materials that you want are not available through our collection or the PASCAL lending program, complete an Interlibrary Loan Request Form. You may check the status of your requests by logging into your MyLibrary account.
