Many ebooks are easily accessible, and a few clicks allow you to read online or download PDFs or EPUB files. PDF files usually mimic how a book would look in print, with the same page numbers and layouts. EPUB files adjust to the size of your screen, and may be the better choice when reading on a mobile device.
A few ebook databases require the use of free software to download copies of their books. This page will explain the process of accessing books from select databases.
While most ebooks have the same access privileges on and off campus, there are some books that are online reading only when off-campus, but can be read online or downloaded when on campus. If this is the case, there will be a note on the catalog page about it.
For books accessed through Ebsco ebooks, you can read the PDF or EPUB edition online, or you can borrow a PDF copy.
Follow these directions to temporarily download the book:
1. Create an account with EBSCOhost when prompted.
2. When prompted, download Adobe Digital Editions. You can create an Adobe Digital ID account, which will link your accounts on different devices, or continue without an account if you only use one device with this software.
3. You can then download the book for a set checkout period. Checkout periods vary by book.

4. Or, you can find the PDF symbol and click it to download a copy of the whole book.
