ENGL 484: Children's Literature

Comprised entirely of award-winning books from six English-speaking countries, this database allows the visitor to limit the search by age of reader, setting, historical period, ethnicity, language, format, genre, publication year, author, and keyword.

This award is for U.S. works of fiction, poetry, folklore, or selected non-fiction that were published in the previous year in English or Spanish that authentically and engagingly portray Latin America, the Caribbean, or Latinos in the US.

This award is presented annually by the Coretta Scott King Task Force of the ALA's Social Responsibilities Round Table. It honors authors and illustrators of African descent whose distinguished books promote an understanding and appreciation of the American dream.
